A Day Away!

It's 1:30 am Nov 27th.  The house is silent.  Amazingly I am the only one awake.  Hard to believe we leave TOMORROW!  The past chunk of time has been a blur of flight reservations, passport applications, visa applications, visa denials, more (expedited) passport applications, more (expedited) visa applications, shots, more shots, then... more shots!  Typhoid pills, malaria pills, tour guide purchases, lots of wikipedia research on ancient China, packing suitcases, weighing suitcases, loading any electronic device we could borrow or find in our home with audiobooks for the 13 hour flight, and spending too much time (and perhaps money)deciding on which journal will be THE journal to document the "trip of a lifetime."  And NOW we are finally a day away!   My head is spinning and I am resisting doing more internet research on just which elephant rides are the best deal in Chaing Mai, Thailand  -- I think my family would vote for Mommy getting sleep and reading the tourguide on the flight instead.  Maybe by tomorrow we'll figure out how to post a picture.  Good night!
